OAKLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL MUSIC RECAP

(by Odilcia B.)

If you follow us on Twitter or Instagram then you know that the Oakland Music Festival was live. The food, the people and the weather was amazing. But, what was even better was the music. SO much good music. If I had to describe last nights performaces with two words I would say; GOOD ENERGY. A major shout out to all the artist that performed, y’all killed it. Another shout out to OMF for bringing something like this to the bay!

Dom Kennedy has been keeping it west coast since 2008. His chill and laid back  sound is guaranteed to have you feeling that kickback Cali vibe. Owner of his own label “OPM” the L.A native is definitely someone to add to your itunes libary if you have not already. you can listen to Get Home Safely on Soundcloud.

SZA the first lady of TDE blessed us with an amazing performance last night. Her soulful voice, deep lyrics and funky style will make you want more after one song. Her album Z is available on itunes. And if you missed her yesterday, check her out here for a list of her upcoming shows and events.

Jesse Boykins III is more than just a singer                                                                      he writes, produces and arranges music.                                                                          The Chicago born artist sound is a mixture                                                                      of reggae, electronic, and soul. His sound                                                                        will have you feeling free and fun. You can                                                                      check out his latest album Love                                                                                      Apparatus on Soundcloud.
