Every once in a while, you need to take the time to relax and de-stress. We just visited the perfect location for your mini vacay and it was only 3 hours away.
Pismo Beach is located in San Luis Obispo County and is a cute little beach town perfect for family and friends. When we first arrived, we visited Bishop Peak for a mind clearing 3 mile hike. It was super hot and tiring but totally worth it once we got to the top. The view was absolutely breathtaking and the scenery matched.
After our hike, we were all pretty sticky and gross so thank God our hotel was only 15 minutes away. We stayed at the Seacrest Oceanfront Hotel. It is the perfect home away from home. It sits at the center of a beautiful town and offered us the beach as our backyard. Yes, you read correctly, the beach was literally a few steps away from our room.
The hotel is also minutes away from a lot of local activities which includes ATV riding, horseback riding, and kayaking. After washing up and getting cute, we went to the Honeymoon Cafe for lunch. What stood out to me was that all of their dressings are homemade, all of their veggies are organic and handpicked from local farmers markets, and everything that they use is organic and local when available.
I am a burger addict, and have definitely had my share of unique burgers. The Honeymoon Cafe’s burger is definitely up there in my list of faves. The restaurant’s ambiance was super chill and I would definitely recommend stopping by for a lunch time snack.
After chillin’ and going to the beach, we headed back to our hotel for a wine tasting. Every Wednesday, The Seacrest has a “Winesdays” event where they feature different local wineries on their Roof Top Terrace. It’s a complimentary wine tasting event for our guests with live music. The wine at our particular tasting was from Lone Madrone winery and the cider was from the Bristols Cider House which also comes from Lone Madrone.
As we sipped on wine and chatted, we got to relax to some classics being played by the hotel’s guitarist. I may be trippin, but I’m pretty sure he was playing especially for me and my friends. After wine tasting, we went by the fire pits and took in the sunset which was absolutely AMAZING.
We were only in Pismo for 2 days but it was a great mini-vacation. I would definitely come back for an extended stay and try out some of the fun activities. But don’t take my word for it, come visit Pismo Beach and make sure to stay with the Seacrest family while you’re there. You won’t regret it!
