MeshBanga or simply Mesh, is an artist that has been doing her thing for a couple years now. With the release of singles “Fireworks” and “Business”, she is primed to make waves in the Bay Area music scene, having already collaborated with Vallejo artist Willie Joe. I recently had the opportunity to connect with Mesh to discuss how she got into the music industry, her musical influences, and upcoming projects on the horizon.

Richmond native MeshBanga first started to write lyrics at the age of 9, and was in the booth by the time she was 13. Once she got to high school, she realized how strong her passion for music was, and started to take a more serious approach to making her dreams come true. She describes her sound as a blend of edgy urban pop.

“I’m very versatile I love it all from Hip-Hop, R&B, all the way to Trap. My first influence was Remy Ma, I love her edge, her flow. Lauryn Hill who both raps and sings, and always has a message behind her music. Also, Drake for his versatility of style.”

Out of the Bay, she is down to collab with anyone who makes good quality music.

“The type of music you can actually feel, vibe, & relate to. Some of my favorites out of the Bay right now are Kehlani & Nef.”

Before the year is over, Banga hopes to drop a few visuals as well as new music that she has been working on. She wants to increase her fan base and give everyone a real taste of her versatility.

Do you have any upcoming projects or shows coming up?

Performance dates are still being scheduled out right now. But, I have a combined mixtape by the name of Diamond in the works right now with my brother Nino, aimed to drop late December/early January. The songs on that are RIDICULOUS can’t wait to push that out to everyone. | Twitter | Instagram | Facebook | Soundcloud
