As some of you may know, Odilcia and I are of Congolese decent and one of the many important parts of our culture is dancing and drumming. Our cousin, master drum and dance teacher Kiazi Malonga teaches a Congolese dance class in Oakland every Monday and Friday, and this Saturday, the class is only ONE DOLLAR.
Dance class will allow you to explore the rich movement traditions of Central Africa, is open to all levels, and is accompanied by live drumming and percussion.
Join us for a blood pumping, soul reviving class that’ll definitely bring in 2017 the right way!

Being raised in Oakland, and spending 4 years in Southern California, Mamou heard the constant negative views that people had on the Bay Area. She vowed to help change those views, and Nook and Kranny is her first step in doing so.
