NEW MONTH, NEW GOALS | 5 THINGS TO WORK ON THIS APRIL

A new month is the perfect time to reevaluate the goals that you have set for the year while simultaneously setting new goals that better align with your spirit. I don’t know about you, but for me, having a list of things to achieve keeps me going and allows me to hold myself accountable. Here are 5 things that I will be working on this month.

You did it! You made it into the second quarter of the year. You’ve been working on bettering yourself these last 3 months, and have powered towards some of your New Year’s resolutions. A new month is the perfect time to reevaluate the goals that you have set for the year while simultaneously setting new goals that better align with your spirit. I don’t know about you, but for me, having a list of things to achieve keeps me going and allows me to hold myself accountable.

Here are 5 things that I will be working on this month.

1. Spring Cleaning
I am a serious emotional hoarder. I still have birthday cards that go all the way back to my 5th birthday – yes, I have a problem. This month, I plan on clearing out my apartment, and parting ways with all the junk in my closet – and under my bed, and in my car.

2. Network, Network, Network
As some of you may have noticed, Nook and Kranny went on a brief hiatus this last year. Now that we’re back, we have set the goal of focusing on community and building connections this year. In order to do that, I need to get out there and NETWORK. It’s always amazing to meet likeminded individuals with who you can collaborate with.

3. Stop and Smell the Roses
When I’m in full work mode, I have a habit of keeping my head down and grinding. This month, my goal is to take time to stop and appreciate all that I am surrounded by. We can get so caught up by the daily hustle and bustle, so it is very important to take a moment and be present.

4. Daily Moments of Self Love
This one is simple, in the words of RuPaul “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else” You can’t be the best version of yourself if you don’t take the time to show yourself some love. I want to work towards taking some time everyday to practice self love.

5. Get Out Your Comfort Zone
One of my biggest fears are change and the unknown. With that being said, this month I want to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. Whether its food, activities, or learning something new, this month is all about getting uncomfortable and expanding my horizon.
